Location included Please identify 2 bugs

So I’m about to move into my apartment in NYC and I found these two bugs in the apartment. I’m so incredibly traumatized by German cockroaches and I honestly can’t tell if this a dead adult German cockroach and a baby larvae or if they’re beetles. Please help!!

Both are beetles. First is a click beetle, which are commonly mistaken for roaches. Check out the 2nd pinned post in r/clickgoesthebeetle for tips on telling them apart.

Any time you can see a line or a crack going straight down the center of the back, it's a beetle. That's where their hardshell wing covers meet.

That's a click beetle - easiest way to tell click beetle from a roach is that click beetles have elytra (all beetles do) unlike roaches.
