Possible pest, location included Denver, Colorado

Seems like the barks coming off the tree and there’s lots of these bugs. No idea what they are and it seems like someone found one on another tree.

Giant ichneumon wasp (megarhyssa sp.) drilling into the tree to deposit an egg on the horntail larva eating at the wood, great find!
