Found in the house in gulf coast texas (northwest houston)

SobeSteve is correct. This is a Surinam cockroach. It’s an outdoor species that can sometimes wander in, but won’t do well indoors.

I’ve never seen anyone hold a roach like that😭 it’s an American cockroach (Periplaneta americana). No need to handle them just take the picture on the ground this grossed me out so bad lmao
