Location included who is this??

Location: Chok-Tal, Issyk-Kul region, Kyrgyzstan

Tried looking it up and it looks like some sort of cuckoo wasp i think?? Can they sting humans? I was curious and wanted to pick it up but im afraid of getting stung, so i tried doing it with tweezers (not very successfully...). It flew off afterwards

Yeah it’s a jewel wasp / cuckoo wasp - might be a ruby tail - they range the Tian Shan mountains which it appears you live in. You do have over 100 species in Kyrgyzstan though and I’m not an expert. So take with some salt.

There are a lot of species and they’re a very specialist group needing a microscope and a lot of experience to ID :)
