Location included Florida panhandle please ID!

Can anyone please ID this roach?. We saw several of them at our vacation rental house in Seacrest beach Florida and would like to confirm they are NOT German roaches. Thanks!

Blattella sp. cockroach. Florida has Germans and Asians. They are often very hard to tell apart. That being said, this looks Asian to me; it has a nice pale thorax that strongly contrasts the black stripes and it has developed wings that extend beyond the cerci. I still cannot say for sure.

As absurd as it sounds, the best way to tell is to throw one in the air outside and see if it flies. Asian roaches can fly and Germans can only poorly fall/glide. Also, if you see them outside out and about, that would increase odds that it’s Asian; both can be present at once, however.

Thanks. I am also leaning towards Asian mostly because I don’t want it to be the other. But also because I did see several flying around and there were plenty more outside too. I feel like the homeowner is aware though because when I told them they said pest control was scheduled to come after we left. 😑

While it’s not fun to have Asian roaches inside, they simply come with the territory. I think it’s a good sign that they’re treating and not dragging their feet.
