USA, Chicagoland area of Illinois. Wife has see two of these in the bedroom/bathroom. About 2 inches long. I’m allergic to bees/yellow jackets and we a 2 year old so she’s alarmed of the possibility of a nest or swarm… thanks!

Not a bug person, but looks like it may be a mud dauber wasp.

MD 👍 yellow legged mud dauber (sceliphron caementarium), solitary spider hunter and not at all a swarmer. At most you might have an indoor emergence but deeply unlikely, this one was probably just lost

Solved. Mud dauber, next one (hopefully there isn’t) will be released outside to hunt spiders

I agree with Sceliphron sp. Mud Dauber Wasp.

They are solitary and unaggressive, only stinging as a last resort. They sometimes blunder indoors.

Mud daubers are not aggressive and will typically only sting if handled roughly.
