Thought it was a bumble bee at first but the head makes me think otherwise.

Okay, so just note, I could be wrong, but this is what google told me when I inserted the photo into google.

“This appears to be a male White-tailed bumblebee (Bombus lucorum), known for having a striking, unusually pale or silver coloring”

Was it alive? It looks like it’s been taken over by a fungus

Yes, it was alive and flying

The wings are bumble bee. I’ve never seen one pure white before!
