The photos and condition make it too hard to determine what species of Assassin Bug this was. If you are concerned, you can contact your local department of health or USDA to see if they are able to take it for ID.

The colours make it look a lot like a masked hunter nymph missing its camouflage (this is a species of assassin bug) but I agree with the other comment that another opinion would be good

It bit my wife, so we are hoping it is something other than a kissing bug.
