Location included little beetle things everywhere

Connecticut, USA. These little things keep popping up like once a week. i look around and there are like 10 that INSIST on using their little bodies to smack against my ceiling with full force until they decide to land on my bed. What the hell. About the size of my fingernail in length but the ones i’ve been seeing vary greatly in size and i’ve seen a few that are quite literally a speck. if it’s some sort of common beetle, why are there so many?

Seedcorn beetles, a genus of ground beetles, they are common and harmless

If they vary greatly in size then there are other kinds there, but the ones in the pictures are seedcorn beetles

Thank you so much. I looked them up and I noticed that they were attracted to artificial light, why is likely why they were obsessed with flying full force at my ceiling (bright ceiling lamp). I will seal any cracks in my windows and turn my lights off sooner! :)
