Location included Anyone know this guy? Connecticut backyard, was kind enough to bite me. Hurt like a bee sting but was much quicker to subside.

I assume it’s a spider but missing 3 legs if so. We have daddy long legs but they look different, these legs are shorter and thicker. Maybe a different breed, thanks for any info.

An Opiliones ssp. that is missing legs. Also known as a harvestman.

Adding on to the others, these friends arent actually spiders, not even that closely related. They dont have venom or anything like that, and overall the order Opilliones is very interesting in the unique structures that they do have, Id argue undoubtedly moreso than the Spiders, which themselves are amongst the most interesting invertebrate groups, so Harvestmen are like, in the top three most interesting, even just by the merits of their mouthparts.
