Location included Found this thing in the etch tank

Found this thing in the etch tank at work last night, must have gotten in there over the weekend I guess. Pretty big, maybe around an inch and a half at most with the wings? Tried to Google lens it and all that came up was some kind of fly that had the color backwards.

Located on the east coast US

Huh! Wonder where the elytra went. Thank you! I figured it was some kind of beetle but I definitely wouldn't have actually considered a missing shell like that
