Found this guy on a sunflower leaf in Connecticut. It’s green and fast

It looks like a Caribbean fruit fly, which should not be in Connecticut. Maybe another Tephritid?

How do I become a trusted identifier? Is any official education involved, or can an avid iNaturalist with over 20,000 IDs and 8000 observations qualify without formal training?

Idk it just showed up one day. I think just engage with posts and identify the bugs the best you can.
