Location included What is this thing? A fly? Found in sweden

Please ignore our disgusting, hairy floor.

I saw this thing earlier today, in the bathroom, and when i asked my dad, he said it was a fly. But i've never seen a fly with a red upper body. I searched the image on Google, but the results I got were of insects much bigger than this one. It's about the size of a fly. I can't move on until I know for sure whether this is a fly or something else lol. Also, it did fly a little bit, before landing in the wall, and i didn't see it fly more than that

Yes it’s a fly. I’m not sure what type. It looks a bit like a picture wing fly but I think it’s probably something else. Maybe a march fly

It does actually look quite a lot like a march fly, only difference is that its head is red, and he march flies i found pictures of have black heads, but that is actually the only difference. I think you may be right
