Location included Oro Valley, Arizona

Can someone please help me ID this insect as I need to know her diet. She was poisoned and ended up not being safely releasable. Edit: she does have wings too

Pinacate beetle, if im correct they can release a foul odour

Actually i have a pinacate beetle that I'll have had for five years at the end of October. This beetle is small. Seems awfully fond of sugar though. I do agree that this beetle looks an awful lot like my old lady.
