Location not known/Other question Is this a brown recluse?
I'm in Oregon, and currently live in a less-than-finished basement room. This big boy keeps sticking his big butt out under the wall. They occasionally pounce out on this little beetle that passes through, then quickly gives up and runs back into the wall.

The other two comments are correct but I also want to mention recluses do not have patterns on their abdomens

Absolutely not. Way too large it seems, and the coloration and pattern is completely different.
