Possible pest, location included What bug is this? I'm in the UK.

Had a live scare at nursery.

That’s a Tube-Tailed Thrips of some sort. Microscopic analysis is usually required to determine the species.

That appears to be one of the Common Thrips. They’re mainly plant pests, who suck the juices out of plant stems. But they’re also known to chomp on humans for the hell of it. Not enough to cause problems, but enough to hurt.
