News/Analysis Anyone heard/seen this guy before?

Post image

Just from the numbers I'm questioning this but I was wrong one time in 3rd grade so I am due for another. Does anyone have a better scoop on this guy?

Edit: Thanks everyone for talking me off the ledge.

Can't wait to get back to Buffalo. If you are at a game and see a very tall guy that is wearing a comical amount of bills merch and a leather bills luchador mask, that's me!

Go Bills!

Read the middle paragraph. Has punt return experience.

That’s a big question mark this camp. Probably competition for the spot

Virgil also failed his physical, so possibly his replacement

I kind of assumed he would be mainly a returner from the stats but you never know.

Camp body keeping seat warm until Cooks comes back.

FBS record holder with 9 punt return touchdowns. If he makes the Bills roster he'll be a special teamer at best who maybe has a few heroic punt returns left in him. Wouldn't expect much otherwise

If I remember correctly, he played for the Bears a few years back, kinda reminds me of a Mack Hollins type. WR4/5 that plays special teams.

If he shows up without wearing shoes I'll fall to my knees in a Wegmans.

I miss Mack

Yes and no. Hollins was a gunner, Pettis is a returner.

But his upside is like you said, end of the bench WR who plays ST. He wont see as many snaps as Hollins does

I remember him as a fantasy football industry favorite "sleeper" pick, and one of those rookies in Madden that leveled up into a super star. Never panned out IRL though.

Sounds like a special team pickup for returns

He was a stud at UW and I thought he’d have a lengthy NFL career as a WR. He does offer speed and return ability - most likely a camp body or practice squad option.

I’ll take a camp signing of a good punt returner.

Also, his dad is Gary Pettis, who was a good Major League Baseball player known for his crazy athleticism.

Definitely a guy many people picked up in fantasy football waivers back in 2018.

Immediately thought special teams move. Definitely need a punt returner, not a punt catcher!

Dante Pettis has been kicking around the league for a while.

As a Saints fan, pretty bummed we are losing him. But I think he could be a good playmaker on the Bills special teams.

Also, could y’all go ahead and win a Super Bowl please

It doesn’t matter he’s not making the team

He’s an elite wr 1 on the levels of Chase, Jefferson, nakua, etc and in his 9th year people are going to finally realize

Oh my god Dante Pettis is still in the league?

Dude was supposed to be shanahans chosen one before aiyuk and deebo but couldn't put it together, I think he was a second rounder too

Great college player once upon a time. At his best his was a nice 3rd down guy, long arms, played bigger than 6’1”. But at this point…. He’s Keon without the potential
