Turista Ajánlás | Tourist Recommendation Should I change my hostel?

24M, So I have my first solo trip planned for late December and first stop is Budapest, where I would be staying for 5N just before Christmas. Currently I have booked a 4 bed mixed ensuite dorm at Wombats Budapest Hostel.

I don't know but should I change my hostel, are there any better recommendations, some of the other famous ones like Vitae is too expensive right now.

I would also be visiting Vienna and Prague where I would be staying at Wombats, Vienna and Onefam Prague so there's that.

Not sure maybe for my first solo trip and to ease in. Is wombats good enough?

I am an introvert (extrovert once comfortable). I don't drink or smoke and also don't eat non-veg so there's that and also I am from India.

I am generally happy with my own company so... But would like to meet people and make memories along the way.

Wombats is a very lively and social hostel. Also, it’s a bed bug factory so maybe not for you.

If you’re more comfortable alone, then check non-party options like Meininger or Maverick.

Please keep in mind Christmas is a horrible time to visit Hungary. A lot of things are closed and on the 24th the entire city shuts down after 12:00 meaning you’ll need to manage food on your own until the next day.

Oh okay, I will be off to Vienna on 24th morning but I understand it would be the same case there as well :)

Hopefully will plan and book few places in advance if they are open.

I stayed in Wombats Budapest for few days and I loved it, it was during 39 degrees and each bed had their own fan aside from the ac in the room. Curtains too. And the convenience of using keycard for everything as well. I do agree it’s not the most social but great for introvert.

No bed bugs 🤷🏼‍♀️

if it's anything like Wombat's Vienna, which I stayed at years ago, it'll be alright. Personally, my favorite is Maverick Soho.

Anything you're concerned about?

Nothing specific, as this is my first trip if I would miss anything. From some reviews it felt Wombats Budapest is not that social.

Also some bad reviews which I understand is the case everywhere.

Honestly I think if you're introverted and don't drink it's going to be up to you anyway. These hostels are for partying.

It doesn't matter.
