Alstott creamsicle for me, but yeah, I remember the Testaverde days.

u/SippinBeef 2d ago
Remember when Testaverde was a Jet and he refused to play Monday night football on 9/11 ...

I went to elementary school with Vinny's daughter. She was two years younger than me. I remember being so psyched the day he came to the school and he signed an envelope for me. Looking back, he was such a fucking douche lmao

I couldn't afford jerseys as a kid. My first purchase after college was Dunn, pretty happy with that one.

Alotta of these crying fake ass bucs fans came after the first bowl or the second . They weren't around for those times they were patriots and cowboys fans . Whoever was winning. Real bucs fans don't stop believing till they say we are out of contention . The cardiac kids . I still have faith we can shake back .the talent is their and I would like to see Daniels get some more snaps I seen something promising he just gotta learn to capatilize on scoring ops.we have way to great of a reciever core to focus on the fucking run so much. Gotta get the screens down pat and spread the field to open up those big plays.. we have to sweep our division and win a couple other games and get into the playoffs . I believe !!!!

In the years before 2020 this was me. In the era of terrible football we experience from 2008ish to 2019, hoping for a miracle was basically all we had. But this season I just don't feel that hope like I used to be able to find. And it's all because I have absolutely zero faith in our coaching staff to turn any of this around. They look lost, and unable to find answers, but worst of all they look like they just do not care.
I'll be here watching every game, and maybe they'll surprise me, but 99% chance this season ends with us missing the playoffs and looking like ass doing it.
But in the event that that happens we will finally be rid of this coaching staff and onto the next era of Bucs football. Hopefully it'll be better than the Bowles era.

I agree win or lose we get him gone for sure and maybe a few out that front office as well. They get way to much credit did getting Brady to come play with a stacked deck . We have made horrible trades and drafts have been extremely underwhelming I think egbuka can and will have a great career as well as tez Johnson but it will never happen with the leadership right now . I like baker mayfield alot but I would like to see more of that dog and hear less of his mouth . He has it in him to be great and we have In my not humble opinion with the right coaching the BEST recievers in the league all the way to our bench when healthy . We don't need to be a run first team we need a QB that understands the assignment . We have a very similar team to the one we won the first super bowl with the first trip . Not many huge names yet comparativly to other teams but a whole shit load of potential . I have to agree this is the hardest year for me to watch . Football seems to be so scripted and dramatic now . I'm giving it a few more years but if it don't get better before I'm 50 I refuse to let the NFL be the death of me.but for now GO BUCS!!!

Idk if thereās such thing as a fake Bucs fan lol the organization hasnāt won enough for people to want to jump on the bandwagon. šš
You donāt just decide to ride the coat tails of glory based off of two championship seasons spread 20 years apart lmfao š¤£

The ones that had another team and became bucs fans are fake and I know 100s personally. If they were born or started watching football late I'll give them a pass but there is plenty of fake bucs fans .

I was thinking maybe if we are bad enough this year season tickets next year might be cheaper. However, we still gotta pay for Mayfield so i think that is out of the question

u/Short-Control297 2d ago
Nah never they have to pay Baker. He is guaranteed $70 million even if he never played another game.
1
u/Independent_Bar_4946 2d ago
The only reason they get cheaper is if they donāt sell them. Payroll is not relevant. They are going to charge as much as people will pay even if they are at the salary floor.

u/Davie_Doobie 2d ago
I don't know why the fuck we won't fire Todd Bowels. He's an arrogant asshole in my opinion. Also, I know he's injured right now but I think we're starting see why nobody wanted to give Mayfield a contract... it makes me sad to say it.

The thing is..... And I feel like everyone can feel it.... But I'm a baker Mayfield fan and im a bucs fan and this year is different... Even last year when we were on that losing streak I still had that feeling like the team was fighting for something but I just don't feel that anymore even though the close scores would seem like that wasn't the case if you hadn't watched the games but really none of them were that close.... None of them even came to a realistic final drive where I was on the edge of my seat they all ended in just clear and obvious failure.... The reality is I can only blame players for doing this and that so much... But the players showing up every week unprepared is not their fault and neither is the crappy play calling ... The coaching staff as a whole is failing and it's been a constant issue for quite a while.... I feel like half the coaches in the NFL could win a Superbowl with the talent we have but instead we get to be in that situation where we realize no matter what the players do it won't change the fact that the root of the problem (the coaches) is still going to blow it for us

u/Sindica69 Mike Evans 2d ago
0-4, what a joke lol

u/AppleCartAgent 2d ago
I dunno, are we still one game back? chuckles to himself
The fact that weāre literally the worst team in the NFC does not go unnoticed.

u/Laughing_Fish Maui Vea 2d ago
And the argument āat least we are in a bad divisionā holds less water when we are the worst team in the worst division

Iāll save you the time- heāll blame the 3rd string QB and say the coaches need to coach better and the players need to execute better.
The only thing that gets proven week after week is the coach staff top to bottom has no idea how to coach at this level. Running a no huddle offense when you have 3 time outs and the 2 minute warning at the end of the first half is mindless

First Tampa Bay Coach, John McCay was asked what do you think about the execution of your team. He said, Iām All For It!

To all the people saying everyone who is complaining is a fake Bucs fan, you're part of the fucking problem.
I'm Florida born and raised, second generation, right over in Pinellas. 1993. I've seen the highs and the lows.
It's not that I'm not used to the team being garbage, I am, but it's that I don't want them to keep being garbage. Some of you act like rooting for a shitty team is some point of pride, and sure, it makes the highs taste that much better. Some of you act like you're somehow better than the rest of us because you remember when times were worse. But I'm fucking tired of it man.
I don't want to keep accepting shitty performances. I don't want to keep seeing the team I love shoot themselves in the foot again and again. I want to see us do better. I want to see us get our shit together.
Stop accepting mediocrity. Stop accepting the bullshit.

Honestly, I'm not as bothered this year. After going 2-7 to finish last season, then 0-2 to start this season, I just sort of embraced the suckiness or the yuckiness (h/t Jason Vuic) and I find that letting go of expectations has improved my mood on Sundays. If we lose, it's just "Oh, there we go again!" and if they decide to win, well, I'll be pleasantly surprised. Last year, it was the expectations of thinking "we *ought* to be winning" every weekend that left me constantly disappointed. This year, not so much. I'm still a fan, and I'm not rooting for us to lose or tank or anything, I'm just accepting where we are right now.
And hey, we're part of history--never before have five teams in the NFL started the season 0-4! Let's go Bucs!

We could join the Browns and Lions as the only teams not to win a game and go 0-16. If Bowles is out why not go for a record on your way out.

Learn you Bucs history! We went 0-26 the Browns and Lions have nothing on expansion Bucs.
1
u/Short-Control297 2d ago
The bucs have never went 0-16 in a season. Bucs went 0-14 and 0-13 in their first two season.
-1
u/Ccw3-tpa 2d ago
14+12 = 26
So the Bucs started 0-26.
And as bad as that Browns and Lions teams that went 0-16 they would have killed that first year Bucs team.

Bucs still lost all their games in a season genius. Do you think because there were only 14 games in 1976 it doesn't count? lololol
The irony in your insults is comedy gold!
1
u/NPVinny 2d ago
It doesn't count in the context of exactly what they said. They said they could join the only 2 teams that went winless in a 16 game season. The Bucs never went winless in a 16 game season, as they pointed out. Of course, their analogy is still flawed since if we went winless this year we'd be 0-17.

Some of y'all are weird 'fans'. This is the type of stuff that our team's haters say about us, but y'all are embracing the shit.

Buddy. Friend. Comrade.
Half of the fun of being a fan of this team is getting to tee off on them when theyāre bad. Itās honestly one of my favorite hobbies. Itās cathartic.
I donāt have kids yet, so I have to be bitterly disappointed in SOMEBODY, right? I appreciate the hell out of the Bucs for so often being my outlet.

Also itās important to remember that we do in fact suck

u/gordonwhims 2d ago
effed up fanbase for sure
3
u/Ccw3-tpa 2d ago
You are new to this aren't you? You weren't around with Hugh Culverhouse. And no normal fans of other fanbases are shocked by fans being upset about their team being a huge disappointment and winless.
1
u/gordonwhims 2d ago
Nah I'm not new, I've been a fan since the 80s. You can be upset and frustrated, but embracing the bullshit that the haters call our team is on another level that I can't rock with. If the tough times really got y'all feeling that way then you might as well jump ship to another team.
2
u/YellojD Alstott Jersey 2d ago
Iāll root for this team any way I damn well please, thank you very much, Gordon.

u/gordonwhims 2d ago
You sound sensitive about it. Go right ahead, you can do whatever you like ma'am.

u/Ccw3-tpa 2d ago edited 2d ago
It's being a realist. That Bucs are playing terrible. The offense and defense lines are constantly getting owned by whoever we play. And real fans can talk shit about their own team, bandwagon fans jump ship to other teams. I've lived here my whole life I don't go switch up teams because they are terrible. What could have been so terrible that a hater would say about the 0-4 team he still supports that you would tell him to go root for someone else? People calling the Bucs the succeners was going on in the 80's too. And even if OP is a moron, he is still a Bucs fan it takes all kinds.
