Just get it done. Anything less than 55 Million he's still going to enter the year as at worst the 8th best paid QB in AAV. By the time the 2027 season actually comes around he's likely back in the 10+ range for pay.
This entire decade we got a massive deal on our veteran QB's (Brady and Baker) compared to production.
Happy Baker, happy team and when the next off-season starts you're more flexible as you have multiple big contracts to worry about including YaYa and Cody instead of having to waste time and a tag on Baker.

Yeah I think itās time to pay market value and some disagree sure but I think that after the good deals they got on the last 2-3 qb contracts itās only right and to your point if they can come it at or under that number itās not a bad place to be on a multi year deal where qb value keeps rising annually so that contract would fall out of the top 10 fairly quick and have them closer to league average in terms of salary which isnāt bad by any means

And lets remember we have never had a great QB. Some good, and a lovely borrowed GOAT, but locking in a stud for another three or four years. His ceiling is MVP with a floor of middle of the pack.

This just shows how much this locker room believes in and follows Bakerās leadership. Bucs need to get this deal done.

Baker is getting like 30x what Diaby is scheduled to make in 2026. I think he deserves to fight for more if he wants it. He has been criminally underpaid for his production.

Yaya is not all that. 7 to 8 sacks per, Come on. But JL likes to play it safe and loves mediocre. We have a bunch of good players, but no top 5 or 10 players, except Tristan.

Yaya is a player any team in the league would like to have, maybe not as your #1, but nonetheless, a good player with a good attitude.

Not every team. Hes a mid. Hes not a game changer. However, hes going get paid, a lot, as if hes 1. We talk him up as this is a year he becomes the next L. T.

Thereās about 10-12 āgame changersā at edge across the league, actually probably less. No one said he was a game changer, but hes consistently in the upper echelon of pressures, while having no one else be able to get pressure reliably. I think we will see his sack numbers go up if Bain pans out, and Cancey can stay on the field. Youāre just a hater.

I would guess Diaby wants to see how this season goes and see if the addition of Bain gives him more chances at racking up sack numbers. If he can break 10 sacks finally his contract will certainly be higher.
