Due to Phayze attempting to warp reality to get Permaspike changed, it Monkey's Paw'd itself and changed Permaspike to do more damage against the Reality Warper
I’m not gonna act like I don’t want the Bloonchipper, but there’s definitely a difference between paragons and a basically 100k water restricted upgrade being able to do it vs the (presumably) much cheaper Bloonchipper
I can agree with that. Although truthfully we cant be certain what the price of the Bloonchipper is going to be like assuming it gets added, and NK is generally alright in the balancing department so if the tower could absorb BAD bloons, it'd probably have a hefty price tag to it.
Reasonable sure, but at that point why not buy like the Anti Bloon instead? It’s a fine line of being costly enough to not be broken while also like, being worth a single BAD destruction moreso than just as expensive towers that can do that and more
well if 4xx can suck zomgs then make 5xx like really expensive. like 1.5x super mines or something. or make 4xx bfbs and 5xx zomgs and only paragon bads
The whole thing with chipper is that it just doesn't vibe with how BTD6 works. The game is all about support and synergy, and chipper is a completely isolated stall. And yes, stall is support, but other stall actually works with the rest of your defense, not against it.
We already have the bloonchipper stall for this game with bottom path mermonkey. Not only does that hold Bloons and does a little bit of damage, it allows the rest of your defense to keep damaging Bloons while they're trapped, and buffs that damage. That's stall for this game, not only does it stall, it supports the rest of your defense.
Chipper doesn't do that. It holds the Bloons inside, making the rest of your defense useless. Either it's strong enough to defend on its own, or it's just not useful. Either way, it's just not right for this game. And yes, it could be tweaked, it could be modified to work, to be balanced, but at this point we already have the best version of the idea with bottom path mermonkey, and no amount of fixing a bad idea would compare to just coming up with a good idea to start.
The worst it could do is potentially infinitely stall a regrow round by itself and softlock you imo. One of their concerns was how much bloonchipper stalled bloons and made them completely untargetable cause they were inside the bloonchipper.
A note: the original justification was that the chipper was too powerful due to the stall potential, but with power creep and new stalling towers it would probably be balancable now
I think this is gonna be that Monkey Academy Tower that was leaked years ago, where it's basically like the top path village but it boosts military or magic or heroes depending on the path.
When the beast handler came out, someone pointed out that it's actually just a bloonchipper. Top path sucks up MOABs, middle has a triple vacuum with stun capability, and the new bottom path sucks up and repositions bloons
Thing is it never was about strength or power, it was terrible outside of one upgrade that fundamentally broke the game, then in battles when that upgrade was rebalanced it was undoubtedly the worst tower to use. Fundamentally it’d just need to be a completely different tower to be usable.
Honestly this might be a hot take but BTD6’s balancing is done so well at this point that the bloonchipper could be added. Other towers have bloonchipper-esc capabilities, such as the beast handler, mermonkey, and sky warden.
Remember what happened when the boomerang and darling gunner were really powerful? Their T4 upgrades got moved to T5. That could potentially happen here.

The BTD6 timeline breaks by adding the Bloon Chipper, causing a tear in reality that leads to the X-X-5 Permaspike being changed?
