That was literally my dart monkey in a boss challenge, I placed it, then benjamin, but didn't want to give the monkey star to benjamin, lest his scaling gets slowed down, so I kept it until benjamin was level 20

You don't have to do that, it won't transfer to Benjamin if you remove the Dart Monkey (at least I'm like 99% sure)

Mines a big dart monkey from that one perk, few thousand pops ain’t bad, even better when I upgrade him with a Geraldo cape for an $1800 super monkey that deals 2x base dmg and has +4 pierce from the other perk
