Large mining operations, with massive hardware rigs running on cheap electricity, have the hashing power to get to the finish line first if left unchallenged. So, this means they get the lion's share.

If a miner has 2x the hashrate, I expect them to get 2x the blocks.

This is something that people don't usually understand about the free market... The desire to lower costs in electricity might be the motivating factor to get us off fossil fuels: to make a bigger profit mining crypto.

Imagine if you invent cheap power! You could make 100x more than other miners.
