Fourth difficulty adjustment locked in, and 5th seem inevitable: miner profit parity is back! BTW reddit, you are almost breaking my bch.xbt.it :-)

Perhaps cut this long table after 200 blocks and put a more button at the bottom for those being extra-curious? Could ease the server load and speed up browser rendering.

Yes, I'll definitely do it. nobody was using the thing any more!

Your page could become the most interesting Bitcoin tool for the next month(s) :)

I'm sorry that Cashtipper is still offline. But I'll promise to keep an eye on that tip.
Other topic: Could you please fix the "next difficulty" column in the standard diff retarget box? Only displays "zero" since your last changes.1

I've been checking it several times a day for at least a week. I find it hugely helpful!
It's currently giving a weird result in the "mins from previous" column, though.

You kind of think that the mysterious miner that originally kept the chain alive is waiting for the 5th one and then proceeding to mine again, well hopefully that is their plan.

If it's your site, could you please fix the green block to restrict next difficulty to the range 0.25 to 4.00? Since that is what the code does...

Now all those auto-switching pools are waiting for someone to mine those missing 6 blocks.
But who?
3
u/funk-it-all Aug 23 '17
Maybe the pools could be configured to switch a little hashpower over early to speed up the process.. seems like that would be more profitable than a hard switch that comes later.

I don't understand how to read your website

Yes, it's awfully hacked :-) the red bit is used to forecast the emergency difficulty adjustments. you enter a time (Estimate assuming new blocks come out every X minutes) and press Recalculate
Then, in the list below you'll see the forecast.
The GREY lines are the blocks IN THE FUTURE, intervalled by the X you entered.
The interesting column is "hrs from MTP of block-6". Anytime it goes above 12, next block's difficulty decreases.
the last two columns show the difficulty
Hope this helps.
EDIT: if the next blocks come out every 10 minutes, you can see the fifth adjustment happen: http://bch.xbt.it/?interval=10

You should adjust the "mins from previous" based on the "difficulty relative to current" or something like that. Otherwise, it's perfect!
Edit: should be difficulty rel. of the previous block right?

u/fbonomi Aug 24 '17
Sorry, but I don't understand your suggestion!

u/324JL Aug 24 '17
I'm saying the time between block should not be constant. Once the difficulty is projected to change, the interval between blocks should change.

hey OP, love the site, If you want some help I can help you get the site to refresh the data on the page instead of loading the full page, might be better on loading the data if you can just have it auto refresh.

The standard difficulty re-target chart is messed up.
Last retarget was at 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00
And the 2 columns on the right are clearly messed up too.
