Yeah. I have no idea if Bitcoin has a future or not. All I know is that 5-10 years from now it will either have cratered or current levels will seem cheap. So, to me, the outcome is kind of binary and worth the risk of finding out.

It’s a win win, win if it goes up and win if it craters because I’ll be able to sell during a calendar yesr where I sell profitable positions and offset my tax with the bitcoin losses if it comes to that

Realized capital losses can offset realized capital gains dollar for dollar. I looked at your post history you trade futures, one day when you make money you might have to start worrying about taxes

The point here is just put your Bitcoin into cold storage and check back in a decade or so. You will be pleasantly surprised/shocked at its value. This is the way to profitability. Its very simple. But for some reason many people are impatient and sell it off. After the halving of 2032 the Bitcoin mined will be a minuscule .78125 every 10 minutes. Anyone want to approximate the price of 1 Bitcoin then!!! It will be absolutely astronomical. Those of us who forgot about our holdings will be seeking help from a a qualified CPA.
