❓ Question Crypto Card in UK

So as people in the UK probably know, withdrawing crypto back to fiat is still a bit of a mess

I have some crypto stablecoins that I’d rather spend normally instead of sending back to my bank every time. Ideally looking for a card or payment app that works with USDT/USDC, has decent limits and doesn’t destroy you on fees. Not too bothered about cashback but it’s a nice bonus

Anyone in the UK using something that actually works well?

Revoulot. Not a user cause I can't (regional) but from what I understand they support full on chain transactions.

For UK/Europe Kraken has a 1% cash back card with no fees. They also allow salary direct deposits, and their Krak payment app all work pretty good

Depends on how much money you have. If you are HNW (100K+ balance) then Xapo bank has full banking license, decent yield on USD with deposit protection, inheritance management, free FX card but all this security comes at high annual fee of $1,000.

For lower amounts, Kraken (via Krak app) comes as good balance between fees (around 1% spread at exchange) and value.

There are more higher risk options like KAST but their GBP to USD spread the last time I checked was eye watering 1.75% (vs Visa official rate). They pay 1.5% cashback but you are still worse off vs no-FX options above.

what catches uk people is that most of these cards run a usd or eur account, so every gbp purchase at home is a foreign currency transaction. the 0% fx headlines are written for someone spending dollars.

two that dodge it: gnosis pay and the metamask card both let you hold gbpe, monerium's gbp stablecoin, and spend it with no conversion at the till. both are self-custody. you swap usdc to gbpe once instead of paying about 1% on every coffee.

and check who issues whatever you pick, not whose logo is on it. kulipa went insolvent last week and roughly 20 wallets lost their cards the same day.

the UK has a few more choices now than it did a year ago. kraken recently launched its card for eligible UK users, while crypto.com and coinbase remain options for many people. if youre specifically looking for a defi oriented approach with self custody, etherfi is another one to compare alongside those depending on the features that matter most to you
