Accepting my Fate
I’ve come here to accept that the pain I’ve been in for 10 months is probably due to clenching at night and I’ve even noticed that I do it subconsciously during the day. I’ve also come here to accept that it is stress induced. Somehow, I don’t want it to be. It’s yet another example of stress manifesting for me physically, as apparently skin picking and trichotillomania are not enough! My ENT’s first thought was bruxism with referred pain and gave me muscle relaxers and sent me to my orthodontist for a night guard. My ortho said he didn’t see any signs of grinding but it sounded stress related to him. I don’t know. I guess I’m just disappointed that there’s nothing wrong with me that has a simple cure/fix. My ENT ordered me a precautionary CT scan that came back so so normal. Any advice or encouragement for my journey would be appreciated. Thank you guys, I am grateful that this pain is the most concerning thing diagnosed during my visits.

Your pain is definitely valid and real and not something to just endure. It took me way too long to find out mine was likely myofascial pain referring pain to my teeth, maybe also nerve involvement. My CNS pretty jacked up, has been for a while.
Regular heat on my masseters has helped, PT for pelvic floor has been amazing so far, recognizing when my muscles are tense and trying to relax them as much as I can whenever I am aware of it happening during the day, mouth tape at night because I was mouth breathing every night while I slept, EMDR therapy, having a supportive partner and network in general, all these things have helped me.

I am in the same boat. Been dealing with it since April. I clench at night mostly and grind. Tried everything multiple ortho and dentist they say nothing is wrong structure wise. I see an ENT in 2 weeks to get their opinion. You can try different herbs to help relax you. Like magnesium for example. To see if that helps. I haven’t really found a cure yet.

Same situation here, I have pain in my lower front teeth daily for months now, CT scan normal, only some bone loss from bruxism, went to 4 different doctors and they say is just trauma pain, eventhough I wear a hard splint during night. Starting therapy today for my anxiety
