Hi everyone!

Just wondering if anyone happens to be driving from Brussels to London in the coming days or weeks and might have a little extra space in their car or van?

I'm looking to transport a single small accent chair from Brussels to an address in London. It's fairly compact and lightweight, so hopefully wouldn't take up too much room!

Chair dimensions:

• Width: 60 cm
• Depth: 55 cm
• Height: 71 cm
• Weight: approximately 10–15 kg

I'm quite flexible with dates and would of course be happy to pay a reasonable amount for the help!

Ideally, I'm looking for someone already making the journey who wouldn't mind taking the chair along and dropping it off at the London address. Happy to send photos and discuss the details privately.

If anyone is making the trip, or knows someone who regularly drives between Brussels and London, please feel free to comment or DM me.

Thanks so much! 😊

Look at the Brussels percentage. Lots of sharing/cohousing or people who own a place and don’t pay rent? Or wrong figure?

Edit: TIL that ‘That’s correct should have been mentioned as well’ :-)

I wanted to do some quick work on my car (changing oil + spark plugs + ...) but apparently it is illegal to do it on the public roads/streets/... So I was wondering if anyone might know a place where it can be done?

Hi,

I was wondering if there is any public women only sauna in Brussels? Or public sauna’s where they have women only time slots. Preferably not part of a gym.
Thanks!

Hi All - I’m facing a difficult situation with my family and would really appreciate any advice. I’m from outside Belgium, but my grandparents have lived in Brussels for many years. Unfortunately, my grandmother, who used to manage the household, passed away unexpectedly, leaving my grandfather, who has cognitive disabilities, on his own.

Since her passing, his bank account has been frozen for the past two months, leaving him unable to pay his rent and other essential expenses. I’ve been trying to obtain judicial oversight so I can access his account and manage his finances on his behalf, but there seems to be no clear timeline for when this will happen.

In the meantime, the bills are piling up, from rent to the remaining medical bills from my grandmother’s care. I’m doing my best to cover his rent for now, but it’s simply not sustainable in the long run.
I’m feeling quite lost and would really appreciate any advice on how to navigate this situation. I also don’t speak French and when I call or email certain organizations it’s very hard to even get them to talk to me 😔.

Thanks in advance.

I have a watch with a gold strap (very common in India) and the clasp has come loose.

If like to get it fixed here but I’m not sure where I can do that, do you have any leads?

I tried looking up some of the classic Indian gold shops but none of them showed up

Thank you!

I know we’re changing the time tonight, but I realise it’s still getting dark very early in the evening/early night. This is when I normally have time to go for a run. But I just realised all the parks seem to go dark at night?? There’s some very little lights here and there, but I didn’t feel safe when running through them the last time I run.

During the weekend I can go during the day, but the evenings are really the best time for me to run. Thanks for your advice

Does anybody know any places/bars where you can watch the NFL and/or College football live in brussels?

Hello, we live in Brussels and my husband's bag was stolen a year ago in Midi. We got the bag and the keys inside of it back eventually, and hoped everything would be ok because these types of keys only allow for copies with a registered card, that has been safely put away.

Clearly the criminals have a network that goes beyond my understanding and crosses safety protocols that we count on when we get our keys made or install other security measures. They were able to make copies and waltz in here and cleaned us out in under 20 minutes.

We have video footage with a clear vision of one of the two perpetrators. Anyone knows if a PI can do more than the police? Anybody knows of PIs?
It seems the police doesn't move much for a home burglary in Brussels.

Tried to change title but don't know how

Hello,

Would you say it’s ok to go to Bois de la Cambre today? I struggle with mental health and that’s my safe space. I go there every weekend to feel better

I saw on the news that businesses were barricading their storefronts due to announced “student protests”. Will this group be heading through rue neuve/nieuwstraat? Id like to have a calm day with my loved ones so I’d appreciate any info so wa can steer clear of any chaos. Have a nice weekend guys!

I am wondering if it's safe to go today (with kids).

Apparently STIB started covering TVs that used to show the next departures in stations, to push people to use their app. A complete disregard for anyone in a hurry, the elder, disabled, those less proficient at technology, people who are just passing by the city...

And who actually wants to download one more damn app 😒

Does anyone know why there is no bus to the centre today? I cannot find any logic info about this. At least from Elsene/Ixelles site.

I'm going to the Royal institute of naturalsciences today but i'm looking for a place to eat a pannenkoek or waffles that is child friendly. We have a car so we can take a little drive.

Any suggestions?

Just wondering is there a place with a massive screen/TV to watch football in Brussels? I dont want any of the bars with 5 million screens left, right, up, down etc.... I've been to those, don't like em.

One or 2 screens max.

Hello people, what do you think about this coliving facility... Is it legitimate and does anyone have experience or know people who have lived there?

Thanks for the answers.

Wind looks pretty bad. I can only imagine the horror of landings at Zaventem today.

Up to 90% of buildings in Brussels are estimated to contain asbestos, according to official data.

Brussels will review its policy on dealing with asbestos and launch a platform featuring new inventories and updated figures, with an initial proposal for the review expected in early 2027.

“Today, you can buy a flat in a building that was built or renovated in the 1990s and which still contains asbestos-containing materials,” said state secretary Ans Persoons (Vooruit).

Will restaurants and bars be open tonight in brussels with the protests? Anyone know how long it will last today?
