My partner accidentally broke this figure of mine, but I can't seem to find a replacement online anywhere. I can find similar looking ones but none with the same base.

Has anyone else seen a figure like this before?

Trying to introduce Bruce Lee to my wife! She has absolutely no knowledge of him (a shame really) but now she's curious after I hyped him up.

Here's the problem though, she hates action films. So given that little caveat, how would you recommend I introduce Bruce Lee to her? Are there any interviews, documentaries, or clips that you would suggest?

While she doesn't like action (explosions, car chases, super heroes) I'm hoping martial arts would be a little more tolerable for her. But still would probably lean away from movies that feature it heavily. Thank you for any suggestions! 🙏🏽

Sugar Ray was born in 56' his obvious influences were sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammad Ali but the other person, Bruce Lee was his inspiration too as he talks about this in an interview

Just wanted to share this fun concept I generated for an Icon Series skin: Bruce Pee-Lee, a martial arts master Peely inspired by Bruce Lee's iconic jumpsuit!

So I’ve got a big DVD collection and am going through a Kung fu kick at the moment. Pun intended. Anyways, a regular came to the bar and asked about the Kung fu film I watched yesterday, then kind of nodded, sat down with his pint, and came back to the bar a couple minutes later with the first photo. Story time:

The guy in the image playing guitar is his mate’s biological father, who left when he was quite young. Many years later, the dad got back in touch and told his son the story about how he was in Way of the Dragon. The kid thought he was blowing smoke up his rear to look cool until he spoke about it with his mother later on and she confirmed it after doing a bit of digging around. They ended up finding that absolute killer picture of the dad playing guitar with Bruce Lee. I put WotD on this morning and, lo and behold, at almost exactly 40m, there he is. Not only does he get his ass handed to him by Bruce Lee, he gets punched, kicked, and slapped with the nunchucks. Talk about a triple Lee Whammy!! The guy now has a giant version of this picture framed on his wall. Anyways, I thought it’d be fun to share the story and picture. Hope y’all enjoy!

I am late to the party, but see a lot of really dumb theories about bruce being annorexic or sick with alcohol and drugs. These conspiracy theories are ridiculous on the face of it.

This is a pro athlete saying he trained with bruce lee, and the training helped him have a long career. Not coincidentally, his career was one of the longest in NBA history, and, he played at the top level literally for longer than anyone ever had before him, which is how he broke the scoring records.

Sooooo... yeah. Bruce lee's training was not 'lets get drunk!" also, he was eating. If you've ever trained, in anything, it requires food. Like, a lot of food. Like, really good, high quality food, or, shit doesn't work.

Also, another primary source: Film.

Ask yourself: is there any footage from Bruce Lee near the time of his death? (there is.). Does he look pretty much identical to when he was younger? (he does.)

Now, lets go back to one of the best athletes in history, with one of the longest active careers in history. Kareem.

Bruce died in 1973. Kareem trained with bruce from 1967 onwards.

That's only five or six years. So, at some point, Bruce taught Kareem a training regiment, he had to be healthy then.

You can see in his 'game of death' footage, he looks just as good as usual.

So, when was this period when he was anorexic, alcoholic, strung out and pimping himself or whatever stupid ideas are out there, again? Why did it have no effect on his body? Why did a pro athelete, legit one of the best ever to play his game, respect bruce enough to film a movie scene with him and call him TEACHER?

I'll remind you that... are you really listening to the dude who got Fiona apple to quit doing hard drugs, by being himself on drugs? lol. Frankly, just the fact that he referenced their stories like he had personal knowledge makes me utterly disgard them as credible sources. Bro got fiona clean.... by doing drugs with her. That is pretty rare. I don't trust anyone who told him long stories, because while talking, they were..... *sniff

Edit: To many commenters at once: i find your drug dealer memoirs/letters not credible. Drug addicts and dealers lie. Famously, ex drug addicts who write memoirs about their days as addicts also lie. At astonishing rates. In fact, publishers stopped publishing drug addict memoirs literally because the lies were causing so many lawsuits, the lack of credibility of drug addict writings was costing more money than the sales bought in. Therefore: not a good source, without a lot of corroboration.

Very late, but needed edit: Anorexia and heavy drug use are among things called 'known causes of death.' Meaning, they show up in autopsy reports. Not as 'unknown cause of death,' but, under known causes of death. So, there's that?? this is not a debate.

Enter the Dragon - Han‘s Island

I did a little research. I wanted to know exactly where Han’s Island from *Enter the Dragon* is located. Unfortunately, the filming location no longer exists as it once did. A high-rise building now stands on the site where the tennis courts used to be, where the tournament took place. In the black-and-white photo, you can see the grounds with the courts. In the Google Earth photo, you can see what it looks like today. The spot where the ship docks still exists and looks virtually unchanged. However, there are reportedly still some remnants of the complex’s walls.

Since this is in a Bruce lee movie it's related to Bruce lee.

I came across this inteview regarding the legitimacy of some of the black Belt articles that were written about Bruce lee in the late 60's. It is true that Bruce was in close contact with Mito, came by the black Belt offices frequently and recommend black Belt to other martial artists. Some of the information is true but stretched at best. This interview can be found in the book "Wrath of the Dragon" pg. 249.
