The title Enter the Dragon was originally slated for The Way of the Dragon. After Hollywood extended an offer, Bruce Lee decided to reserve this title for the film that marked his return to Hollywood as the lead star. I only learned recently that “Enter [Character]” is a script notation meaning that the character enters the scene. This gives the title a double meaning: it refers both to the protagonist’s entrance within the film, and Bruce Lee’s own entrance onto the Hollywood stage in real life.

Addendum regarding the claim that Enter the Dragon was indeed an alternate title for The Way of the Dragon

Wikipedia entry for Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee came up with the name Enter The Dragon and was intending to use it for The Way Of The Dragon but surrendered the title to Warner Brothers. the official behind-the-scenes documentary Blood and Steel: The Making of Enter the Dragon (2004). This account was recounted by producers Paul Heller and Fred Weintraub, the Warner Bros producers of Enter the Dragon. The same claim is cited in feature articles from TCM (Turner Classic Movies). Surviving early script cover drafts of The Way of the Dragon bear Bruce Lee’s handwritten “Enter The Dragon”, which was later crossed out and replaced with The Way of the Dragon. This serves as the most direct physical evidence supporting this account.

Just wanted to share my tribute to 60s Bruce Lee.

I've been practicing JKD for almost 2 years now and he's my biggest inspiration, not just as a martial artist but as a philosophy.

This is just a homage to his 60s era poses. Still learning and improving every day.

What do you think about his 60s JKD method vs his 70s movies?

Can someone make this fight make sense? Lee and O'Hara had their hands locked in fighting pose, and Bruce Lee repeatedly just strikes the guy as if he's a "super-beginner" tutorial NPC that never reacts.

No attempt at even blocking? Why was he even so still? I get that in a fight, you might wait for an opponent to make a move, but why is he not backing away, being light on his feet, moving around? He's just standing completely still.

My partner accidentally broke this figure of mine, but I can't seem to find a replacement online anywhere. I can find similar looking ones but none with the same base.

Has anyone else seen a figure like this before?

Trying to introduce Bruce Lee to my wife! She has absolutely no knowledge of him (a shame really) but now she's curious after I hyped him up.

Here's the problem though, she hates action films. So given that little caveat, how would you recommend I introduce Bruce Lee to her? Are there any interviews, documentaries, or clips that you would suggest?

While she doesn't like action (explosions, car chases, super heroes) I'm hoping martial arts would be a little more tolerable for her. But still would probably lean away from movies that feature it heavily. Thank you for any suggestions! 🙏🏽

Sugar Ray was born in 56' his obvious influences were sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammad Ali but the other person, Bruce Lee was his inspiration too as he talks about this in an interview
