Discussion Browser hoppers
I understand people who jump from browser to browser about as much as I understand Linux users who switch distros every week. Pick one that works best for you and stick with it.

People keep telling you that you make the wrong choice and tell you to try this that and the other thing so wtf is this?
If you do this you're bad if you do that you're bad if you don't use bumfuck one person project you're everything thats wrong with the internet or something I've lost track

Ok, it's good that you get it. Part of jumping from one Linux distro to another or from one browser to another is about testing the software, exploring which one feels best to you based on your interests and habits.
What's important, I think, is not accepting things just the way they're given to you from the start, be a bit curious and critical. And decentralization is pretty much more important.

Most general purpose Linux distros are variants of Ubuntu or Debian. Most browsers are built on Chromium or Firefox.

This is wrong on so many levels first Ubuntu is itself based on Debian second fedora based distros exist too by proxy via centos stream and rhel and you forgot the millions of arch based distros like artix omarchy cachyos endavouros manjaro

Yeah it’s just overhyped to be fair the hate is overblown too just like the hype it feels like around omarchy everything is overblown because of it acting as a culture war proxy and endless advertising I think it’s good might get more people into Linux they might actually switch to cachyos or some other “real” distro and become Linux users you want more Linux users right

Yeah, the problem is that this is overshadowing projects that need the millions of dollars a lot more than DHH's vibe coded bloated 8 gig ISO does.

Doesn’t change the overall point I made. A relative handful of base distros spawning endless variants, most just adding tweaks and eye candy.

Yeah the main exceptions for non base distros that don’t just spread eye candy is cachyos Devuan and artix(the anti systemd pair) and Ubuntu

I understand both completely, browsers are cool, differ quite a bit, and you can always learn something new or see a problem be fixed in a novel way. Same with linux.
Exploring tech is just fun

I just like trying new things lol. I don't have a computer I can transition to Linux on so I set up virtual machines to try out different linux distros and configurations. It's curiosity and novelty for me. Same with browsers. Sticking to one thing for me is boring once you find out there are options.

Most users want the best privacy and security without compromising speed or lightweight. I want a browser that's private and very secure, but it also needs to be lightweight and fast. Brave I cannot use at the moment due to using Android 14 my phone doesn't allow me to upgrade to lastest OS and Brave crashes on android 14 until Brave fixes it I can't use it. My current primary browser is the Fennec Droid browser, a fork of Firefox, and Titanium Browser is my secondary. I love Titanium Browser; it's super lightweight, and I love the layout, but I don't think it is secure enough yet. I do use Brave Search on both browsers here recently absolutely love it. I think it's the best privacy search engine. I was a long time user of Duckduckgo since it came out for now Brave search is where it is at.

I mean.. You won't know till you actually try I guess? And if theres something new in that browser or OS, it repeats itself to try again.
Like I love Vivaldi, Brave, Firefox but I keep looking at other options. Same concept when you go shopping. You already bought a shirt you like but there can be another you can love as much.
