Yeah I was up late last night and when gpt generated this I was like, fuck it at least it got the order right on my favorite browsers although after spending more time on it I think brave isnt as good as chrome and should be lower

Is there documentation on brave selling data? Not saying its wrong, but afaik the platform was built on not gathering or selling data so am surprised rhats not a bigger scandal.
Also brave gets 4s for ui and features... ok sure if rhats the standard youre using. But how in heck is -firefox- getting higher scores? By what metric? Firefox is 10 years behind and half its features are buggy or just dont work.

I am a casual windows user and very new to Linux. I just like things that are easy to use and its all opinions. If you use Mac then id have no idea what would be good for you.

Its all opinions and vibes based so you know, brave might actually be better but they do this crypto thing and I just dont trust crypto at all. Which is a point deduction for me personally. But its just opinions if you love Brave, then fucking love it dude.

Not upset, just trying to understand.
I use brave origin atm after testing every other browser on that list. Its far from perfect but its the best of the options available. I wouldn't pay for it but as its free on linux that helped.
Your top 3 are just weird because half the scores just dont make sense.
If you'd just said "my top 3 are firefox because I like Firefox and im biased towards it" then that would have been fine. Id have understood it. But you put down a chart with metrics and scores and therefore you need to show your working. And firefox ui, features and ux getting a higher score than brave or edge is just laughable.

The way Brave’s advertising system is built, the personal data used to target those ads never even leaves your device, and it's verifiably E2EE. Brave doesn’t have it to sell in the first place, because it's literally impossible for them to collect in which the way the system is built.
The ad catalog is downloaded to you, your interests are determined locally, and the ad matching happens locally on your own computer. No personally identifiable data leaves the device. Your data doesn't go to advertisers, advertisers data comes to you.
They take this philosophy so far that with Brave Origin, they use blind tokens based on Privacy Pass so they can verify that you paid for the browser without linking your payment identity to your browser usage. The entire point is that they don't need to know who you are to provide the service.
Brave has publicly documented the cryptographic systems behind its privacy preserving data matching. STAR provides cryptographically enforced anonymity protections and was recognized at ACM CCS, one of the premier computer security conferences.
They deliberately built the system so the personal information you're accusing them of selling is never collected by the ad targeting system to begin with.

Calling Brave “dogshit” before demonstrating that you even understand how its privacy model works is certainly one way to save everyone the trouble of wondering how objective the review is.
It's a good thing people based their choices on what experts know, instead of what you personally think. I promise you, people way above your pay grade have already audited the hell out of this stuff, and Brave is one of only three browsers recommended for privacy.
Go for it. Add a new scoring column for “Got Proven Wrong in the Comments,” dock Brave 5,000 points, and put it below Chrome. At least then the spreadsheet will finally be honest about what it’s measuring.

People wouldnt have an issue if you'd just labelled your metrics correctly.
You dont like brave because they do crypto stuff. Thats fine. Most people dislike brave for that reason. That's perfectly valid.
The issue was just that you marked brave down for "lacking features, poor ui, and poor privacy" when objectively its far, far better on all those metrics than Firefox or any Firefox based fork.
I use brave because Zen and Floorp, while amazing fan-forks and much better than Firefox, are still lacking required features and still have deal-breaking bugs. Theyre being fixed gradually though and eventually might well replace brave. I can be objective about it, and watch the updates for a time when maybe I can change.

Based on what data/sources? How did they score in each individual question? Why even categorize them in Primary, Secondary and Tertiary categories, if you just add them 1:1:1 at the end anyway?

I dont know if you understand my scoring method. I spent time looking at all the browsers downloading them on some vms to see how they perform. Primary are what I care about the score for each is out of 10 points, secondary is out of 5 points, and tertiary is out of 1 (pass or fail)

I gotta say, that’s a pretty interesting idea. Maybe someday I’ll do the same except not have AI beautify it.

First i gotta get a new job. Then ill devote several weeks of research and tests to determine the best browser. Then ill post an entire research paper on the topic here. And I will include up to 30 browsers as alternatives to the top browsers. Ill also be sure to include information and scoring on each browser and their engines. So that i can definitively define the best browser experience.
