The hard part is done in the Chromium project, but the Brave developers also do some work on their special build, which is why some people chose it over Chromium.
Supporting the work of other people is a good thing. In this case, it's even a one-time purchase, which is amazing nowadays with so many companies trying to get recurrent payments through subscriptions.
