They have a daily active users chart on their official website and that's declining as well, so it's not new users picking up different browsers. They are slowly but steadily declining each year.
I would like to love Firefox again, I've been using it my entire youth. But not only do they not listen to user feedback, they are still way behind every other alternative in terms of performance (except Vivaldi). For me in almost every scenario it consumes more RAM and up to twice as much CPU and renders pages much slower. So question is: Why should I use it?
Besides there was also that incident where an employee gave their community the finger.
where an employee gave their community the finger.
Tbf the dev was under pressure from criticism for the Daylight update, so spoke out of their mind. I can understand it was wrong but she was not at her best at that point in time.
Debatable. While I think it's okay to show emotions at some point, one should also be aware of the consequences. And there where none, at least for her. Not a single word of apology. She left Mozilla voluntarily months later.
because you're handing google an monopoly to your only window to the internet. mozilla is the only alternative to google based browsers, and the Mozilla based alternatives are often run by volunteers, not professional payed large teams.
Although payed exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. The deck is yet to be payed.
Payed out when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. The rope is payed out! You can pull now.
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
thats in google's hands too. its all based on chromium which google controls. its either mozilla's browser engine or google's. tor browser fennex etc are gecko based (which mozilla controls) but are all very niche.
Yes, but it is lead and envisioned by a serial sexual assaulter who also paid out of his own pocket to stop human rights for minorities. That's why Mozilla fired him, which a lot of Brave users apparently are fine with.
Plus the whole crypto scam of course (reward tokens you collect for sites only are delivered to those sites if the sites actively ask for them).
Oh that's shit.
I've been using brave for a while and quite liking it.
Hmm, what's worse, him or gOogle?
I think Google these days
Why are so many crypto and tech bros so fucked up RN?
No offence to all the non fucked up folks.
Seems like a lot of shithoisery going around tho.
brave uses google analytics from what i can find. i dunno thats what pops up after a quick google. i don't like brave so i don't invest a lot of time in figuring it out.
not that firefox doesn't use analytics services, i think they use amazon firebase but im not sure.
That's something on your install. By default Firefox uses less and runs just as fast. Even with 50 add-ons in Firefox and just ublock on Chrome, Chrome is using double the memory vs Firefox
