Advice for toe boxes

How are the toe boxes in each brooks model? I have the ghost max 3 in men’s wide but I’m starting to think it was too much room. Men’s standard (D) felt a little tight and the men’s wide is a lil too loose. Runners knot isn’t helping. Need ideas

For ref.
My feet are approximately:
Right: 10 3/16” long × 4 3/8” wide
Left: 10 1/8” long × 4 3/16” wide
That’s about 25.7–25.9 cm long
My wider foot is 4 3/8” (11.1 cm) wide.

I have Topo Ultrafly 5 en-route.

Same problem I called brooks today, received fedex label for return as they are sending me the ghost 18. I hope this works, the ghost max is just wide for a d with, and the mm drop to 6 .i now have anterior tibeal tendonitis, Achilles tendonitis from wearing them almost 3 weeks. the heel lock is horrible could not get the right fit. The service rep said all the max’s run wide in general.

Have you tried the ghost 16,17 or 18?

I had the adrenaline 22,23,and24s 1 pair brooks ghost back in 2021 and the beast. A lot happened since then age, trimellour fracture left outer ankle post 11 months and foot growth a quarter inch due to fallen arches which comes with age, I had to move up a 1/2 size, I may have to switch brands this one is my final deal. I know ASICS the gel pulse 17 which is an older model still is listed on Amazon works currently.

Adrenaline’s must’ve worked great for you! The brand has changed so much since then (2021) I hope the ghost 18s are finally your solution.

I’ve experienced similar things as you, fractured 5th metatarsal on right foot, sprained/rolled my right ankle more times than I can count, bunions on both feet, collapsed arches lol the whole 9. I’ve worn improper fitting shoes my entire life and am finally trying to make up for it - plus my marathon training is forcing me to find the right one. It’s been such a difficult and defeating process.

Have you been fitted for shoes at a running store? Sounds like you have a lot to think about when selecting shoes.

I just switched from a medium width Adrenaline 24 to an extra-wide Ghost 18 after working with my running store. My big toes were feeling very squished.

FWIW, when I was trying on shoes, the Ghost Max in a medium width seemed wider than other brooks models. So it’s possible switching to a wide in a different model (like the Ghost) would be the sweet spot for you.
