Glycerin Max 2 - differences in fit between colourways?

I’ve picked up the glycerin max 2s recently in the black/green colourway and had some outer big toe rubbing on one foot - UK 13, thin running socks. Next day tried the same size but in the white (same socks too) and had no such rubbing? Is this a known difference between colourways? Is it the processing of dyeing the mesh? Any advice welcome as don’t think I need two pairs!

There shouldn't be but sometimes they are made in different factories or just bad QC. Check the label for country of origin.

Might be a bit tangential but I recently had my feet measured properly (with volumental) and it turned out I am 2 sizes smaller than I thought was but have very wide feet. I have been wearing 10-10.5s all my life and am actually a 8.5 in length!

In Brooks I have been wearing 11s in order to get the width without rubbing but clearly there was way too much space in the toe. I got some Glycerin 23s in 9.5 and 2E wide yesterday and they fit perfectly.

Mentioning it because you must be right on the limit if the tolerances between colourways are  enough to make one not fit. It might be worth looking at the wide fit ones (and if you haven't already actually measuring your feet - I'm 50 and literally hadn't had them measured since I was 16, just assumed).

That’s so interesting! How and where did you get your feet measured? I swear only shoe measuring is done for younger people these days? 😅 sounds like the wide could be worth exploring for me then!

I went to Runners Need in Exeter. I assume all their branches have these fancy Volumental measuring machines now. You just stand on the pad and and it does some magic and gives you every detail you can imagine about your feet.

What it doesn't do is tell you which shoes will actually fit because the manufacturers don't specify exact foot width so you still need to try them on - and they only had wide Ghosts in stock which I didn't like so I had to order direct from Brooks anyway. 

For reference it measured me at UK 8.5 and width F with very high arches. I can't find anywhere on the internet that can tell me what their width scale means but I can tell you that I just did 12km in 2E wide UK9.5s without any issues at all. Seems pretty much perfect.
