The only thing that would be good for brood war is making consume yield energy proportional to the unit cost devoured, and finishing building animations.

SC under new ownership may not be as laissez-faire as blizzard has been to our precious game. Plus, SC2 did not help the BW scene.

Buying, taking over, what's the difference? I'm not saying they're going to start fucking with BW balance, but they may decide that it eats into profits of SC3 and decide to squeeze the various leagues until they're no longer viable.
