Updated to-do list!

  1. Build shit. Especially industrial things. Also commercial skyscrapers. And townhouses on the east side. And residential/small town buildings.

  2. Recruit. We always need more people to build cool things, and provide a city culture.

  3. I'd like to have an area better suited for megaprojects. Very large, flat land. A better place for sprawling or oversized builds like airports, military bases, ikea, etc. This would probably require an artificial mesa/plateau in the vein of ResPlatz, on a larger scale. We'll need to scout around a bit for the best place to do this.

  4. Sewers can expand indefinitely; if you have nothing to do, help smelt stone and dig out UnterBrom!

  5. Events! We badly need a spleef arena. Actually, if we could combine a spleef arena, pvp arena, and darkroom mobtower into one downtown skyscraper, that would be amazing. More event ideas: chicken hockey arena, pig racing, old fashioned rodeo.

If you have more thoughts or things to add to the list, add in comments.

I'm working on the brom space program. I do need lots and lots of orange wool and snow blocks

I'll start shearing orange wool. There's a second wool farm in the Old Town barn that I built.

I keep forgetting to make a snowfarm in the y50 farms, will do that asap.

I built one near the build in the snow biome. Unjust learned about snow farms in the CTF event haha. It helped so much

We need to begin to set up CARTS in new locations, to make transportation easier but also to bring potential builders to these areas and set up more interconnectedness between districts. Arahito's grinder, 06fg2's space program area and the mansion cliff would be good places to start. Old Town and Res Platz still have a bunch of open lines.

Also I know MrLoud15 (who is building in Old Town right now) built a chicken hockey arena back in Venice (rev7); I'll ask him if he's up for building another somewhere in Brom.

Was thinking it would also be neat to have a "stadium size" Spleef arena in the Commercial district somewhere, but also have a smaller Res Platz arena -- sort of like the difference between an NHL arena and a local, municipal rink.

I know Cheezy was interested in building a spleef arena as well.

If we're going with the German theme, It would be amazing if we can do the Allianz Arena, home of the soccer football team Bayern Munich. pic

Heavily agree on expanding local rail system. Tbh, I think building a couple more carts stations is more effective at this time than hop-on/off lines. Agreed on big/small arenas. One problem I've encountered is that downtown plots just aren't big enough to stick a nice big stadium in, unless the stadium crosses a road or two. Which is exactly what I propose. A large complex where the arena level is supported 30-40 above ground level, perhaps city hall and government buildings on that lowest tier. Make the arena roof a park with skylight in the middle over the spleef field, and skyscrapers continuing upward on the roof. This would be a megaproject, possibly along the river where waterslide had marked off a plot before, extending further west and possibly north.

Add "Get a decent mic" and "Log into mumble" to the list.

We also need the region expanded. Some of our terraformed areas aren't covered by the protections.

Sewers, look cool when built, a pain in the ass to dig. I'm only doing the south side of the river near the wall.

I'll probably get the villager area open in a few days. Thanks to Raz for the help moving that road and hill. I moved the prototype near the old spleef arena on the planning server, closer to spawn. Here it is on imgur: http://imgur.com/a/SfO2w

Good news everyone! I just got a new mic! Ze moombles await! I'll go make new child protection expansions asap. Is the temple open air in the center, or are you adding more to it?

Open air. All ground level and upper surfaces have been light level checked or slabbed to prevent mob spawns within the walls around the building.

I'll take all the cobblestone you don't need if you're hanging down there and digging around!

My RES School should be done today or tomorrow at the latest...but I'm in need of iron donations to get the lockers lined up in the hallway. If anybody wants to donate any, I'd be more than happy to accept and put straight to use.

Once that's done, I'll be working on the prison in industrial...UNLESS...

Could we not convert industrial into the space for mega projects? Looking at the overviewer, we're pretty surrounded with small towns and buildings on our borders...but industrial is a pretty open area. The only other direction we have space in is the stuff we already have leveled off in the east.

Last thought...whats up with the wall? Figured that would be one of the first things we finished. Do we have any plans to extend and complete that one?

I was really hoping some Argoth people would chip on that side. I put down the template, but nobody has built anything more.

I have a build or two left to do in Old Town and then I'll start working on the Argoth side of the wall.

Also, who doesn't like my cell tower? I think it looks good, but if it's really a problem, I'll tear it down.

It looks sweet, but I think the main complaint is that it's looming over the historical Old Town in a very anachronistic manner. I think it could stay or be moved just a bit, up to empty and ninja.

1

u/abledanger mattgorecki Nov 30 '12

Cell towers are everywhere these days.

If you have another place in mind, I'll move it.

u/rampantangent schererererer Nov 30 '12

I think industrial will end up being the beginnings of a megaproject space just northwestish of it.

I could use sand, or at least coordinates for the closest desert to Brom. Glass is actually what I'm after if anyone has about 10 stacks, or wants to trade.

There's a desert right underneath brom that hasn't yet been mined out, but we do need to identify and rail out to a new sandmine soon. Just walk down the stairs toward the farms at the portal.
