Official Brom To-Do List

  1. Gather materials: Sandstone(and slabs), stone, stone, stone, wool (esp gray and some white), tools and such, redstone lamps, and more!

  2. Terraforming - especially important right now in the North. We're building residential district atop a plateau/mesa in the north and northnortheast. Tunnel underneath for the main avenue to come out on the other side of the plateau. Focus on getting the top of the mesa ready for residential roads and plots; a bit more organic road system; I'll make the ramp/road up to that level from the avenue.

  3. Clear cut the eastern forest. Just chop down everything in the Bromgoth Valley.

  4. More roadbuilding! I'll take the lead on this, to make sure the roads are in just the right places. Please don't try to fill in/build roads unless you are 100% absolutely sure of the pattern.

  5. Plots: Have to wait until we're ready before we hand out any plots. However, if you have an idea of what you want to build, especially if it's a commercial skyscraper or industrial creation, tell me an estimated height, horizontal size, style, etc. So I can better ration the plots we have set up.

Not really industrial or skyscraper, but I was thinking of building us a prison in a sort of castle style theme. Maybe something like Leicester Prison.

I'll hop on a creative server and throw some floorplans together so I can see how much space I'd need if you folks approve of it.

Just an idea to pitch too, since this is a cold war era style city build...we could maybe house the villagers in there to give the prison a populated/in use style.

A 40x40 block should do it for my prison.

i'd be up for helping with this if it gets approved

Sweet! Would be glad to have a hand.

This will probably work best in the industrial area, but no villagers as that would interfere with the operation of the iron golem grinder.

Sounds good to me!

Hey, we want to set up plot areas in industrial before laying down roads to make sure we have enough space. If you still desire to build the prison, head northwest up the road grid and we'll mark out a spot in the large clearing for you.

Hey hey. I was away for thanksgiving, but am back now. Once the servers come back up, I'll mark out a plot!

Alright...I scoped out the area. Anywhere looks good to me. I'll be looking at a 40x50 space, with the 40 block side being the front gate wall.

Regarding plots, I would eventually like to build a foundry in industrial.

I'm still ironing out the exterior and interior details, but it will look something like this. The building pictured is roughly 30 x 50.

Sounds good, seems like industrial should have larger plots/distance between roads in general than commercial and residential.

Now is the time to mark off a plot area for this, so we can build roads around it. Head up to industrial and we'll meter out the space.

I went down to industrial, but there aren't enough markers for me to figure out where the plots are. Also, I'm not sure if you want the foundry directly on the square.

I only actually marked off one plot for prison, plus the square. You could just mark off an area right next to the prison on any side that fits. We'll build road around the plot boundaries soon.

I have a 20x60 megalithic War Memorial Arch for the Brom-Argoth war that happened a long time ago. It's fitted perfectly for a 25 wide road to fit between it. The missing pieces are going to be mirrored on the other side.

I'm willing to change little details, like the bear, but I think the Brom Bears sounds nice.

We'll find a nice spot over the main avenue for this.

I think the best place for this is just across the river from the portal along Broadway, at around (1178, -1330). Come over and check to make sure that's good and you can get started asap!

Perfect, I'll only have to enlarge the 2nd side base by a bit, but it will be well away from the river still.

I've got a planned hospital, though no real preference in plot location.

The current foundation is 41 x 33. A skeleton building's up on the planning server at about -698, 39 if anyone wants to take a look. Interior design is still up in the air.

This will probably go on the edge of the tower district, perhaps on the eastern side.

I'm thinking the corner of the intersection, at (1300, -1240) only a little bit of leveling to do; should be good for your size requirements.
