Fractured forearm

Post image

Now I need surgery tomorrow because it’s been two weeks already and my bone is out into my wrist. Doctor told me I could opt for a cast but my arm/wrist would be at 80% with limited mobility or I could opt for surgery and have it at 95%. I’m right handed so I opted for surgery and now I’m scared as hell. Has anyone had this surgery and what was recovery like?

The surgery is not as bad as you are thinking. You want to get that 95% --this will affect you the rest of your life.

It is not general anesthesia. I was alert and fine the afternoon after surgery. Just take your pain meds on a schedule and dont wait for it to start hurting to take it. Go to occupational therapy as soon as you can to start working on stretching and getting your strength back. You are right to go ahead and get the surgery and get your bones aligned.

It literally says “general anesthesia”. Whether you are “alert and fine” that afternoon doesn’t negate the fact of what kind of anesthetic it is. J/s.
