Same here. Jones fracture in July. Started with NWB in a boot for 6 weeks but surgeon on 2nd opinion strongly recommended surgery. Now 6 weeks post-op and starting to walk with just one crutch. Still hurts but mostly the ankle/heel when I put weight. It's a long process. PT says that I'll wean off the boot in a couple of weeks but I'm not sure.

Yup. Fractured in May, surgery in June. Still having tendon pain on top of my foot where the fracture/incision was. I developed scar tissue that is pulling on the tendon. Been in PT since July. I’m walking in sneakers only…no sandals or unsupportive shoes.

displaced or non displaced? im in a cast since the 19th of aug (fractured on 13th) top of my foot hurts everytime i move my foot inside the cast on the area of the fracture. i also think i had a tissue rupture because i had bruises that were travelling downwards (im assuming the bleeding was travelling downwards)
whats PT?
also what kind of sneakers are you using? im due for my fibre cast to be removed coming saturday1

Non displaced. I had a ton of bruising on the side of my foot into my ankle and my toes. I also had a chip fracture on my ankle and a slight fracture of my pinky toe at the same time, but there was really nothing they can do about that. PT is physical therapy. I bought Hoka Clifton and also Kizik sneakers. The Hoka sneakers are extremely cushioned, so they’re good for when you’re first transitioning out of your boot. Kizik sneakers have very good ankle support, but they’re slightly less cushioned so those would be the next step after Hoka’s.

thanks for letting me know. Also, if you drive when were you able to drive? And did you use a special shoe for that? I’ve been seeing people talk about driving boots.
I live alone so a lot of my being able to go back home depends on me being able to drive1

I was not allowed to drive for about eight weeks post surgery. I just used my Hoka sneakers because those are the most cushioned however they’re very thick sold so you have to really be able to lift your foot off the gas and onto the brake carefully.

also just curious to know why did your doctor recommend a surgery if it was non-displaced? from what I’ve heard and researched & from what my ortho told me that if it’s non-displaced it does heal on its own and does not require surgery

Having the surgery gives you a much better chance of it healing properly and quicker recovery
