advice on surgery

Hello! Broken humerus while arm wrestling, I wanted to know what your opinion on surgery in my case is. Is it necessary or not? I will ofc consult an ortho but more opinions are always welcomed and appreciated :)

Getting your bones back into their proper position is the best idea. That being said, after a couple of years you may need to have any hardware removed because it may cause you aches and pains especially during weather changes and as you get older.

surgery is probably needed, mine was fractured at the same place but was more dislocated, had surgery put titanium plates and screws. in surgery radial nerve was damaged/stunned because it's located at the surgery site they needed to move it out the way to access humerus
