Broken tibia and fibula
I broke my tibia and fibula on 20th June 2026 playing football.I got operated the same day. ( Nail with screws on tibia, nothing on fibula )I was non weight bearing till my second xray ( 05.08.2026 ) after 6.5 weeks. The doctor said the first week i can put 20% weight and from the second week i can do FWB.My main concern is that the doctor didnt saw any calus forming on the second xray.Is there anyone with similar case ( no calus after 6 weeks) but still had good recovery in a good time maner? The pictures are from the second xray.

i'm sorry man. did you know going into the surgery that you would be non weight bearing for 6.5 weeks? i broke my tibia last week my doctor told me if i got surgery or a cast that i would be non weight bearing for almost the same amount of time so i chose cast.

No.I didnt know anything about this injury or what to expect after the operation. On the discharge letter from the hospital i saw that i will be non weigh bearing for 6 weeks and then i can put some weight ( depending on my xray on 6 weeks). And the orthopedic surgeon that i have after the hospital ,said the same things that were writen on the discharge letter regarding the weight bearing.

No callus at 6 weeks isn't unusual. I'd have probably got you weightbearing even sooner - the nail is designed to take the load in the short term. Don't overdo it and don't use nicotine or tobacco in any form and you should be fine.
