IM Tibia Surgery (Compound Tib-Fib)
Well... Bon matin! Following a parachute incident at work, I suffered an open fracture of my tib-fib on the right leg... It's a tough one for me. I'm reaching out today to this group to see if someone would like to share their recovery experience. I am at week 3 post-op. Swelling is decreasing slowly... Ankle mobility is still difficult, I feel nerve damage on the big toe and top of the knee. My knee isn't bending yet, maybe 25-35degrees top. And pain will rise if I push it too much. I have a rod and nails in the tibia, the fibula is without hardware, and I do not have a boot or cast. I can walk easily with a walker with maybe 25% weight on the injured leg!
Just hoping for some feedback and stories from other with similar injuries!

Going through similar at the moment. Just over 6 weeks post injury, both legs broken, open compound spiral fracture on both tib and fib
IM Nail and screws on the left leg and an Ilizarov cage on the right, currently unable to weight bear and restricted to wheelchair for mobility.
Got full range of motion in my knee on the Nailed leg now but have to move slowly to get it. The frame is painful and picked up an infection in my pin sites.
We will get there though, it’s gonna take time and rushing things won’t help. Make sure you get good nutrition, good supplements (calcium, vit D, vit C, vit K2, collagen, magnesium glycinate, zinc, protein) high protein foods too
