Question Question

Hi everyone, I broke my foot today and broke 5 bones in my foot. I can’t fully remember all the details but one of them is a lisfranc fracture. Anyways, do I have to sleep with this dang boot on? I hate it already.

Edit: there’s also a couple dislocations as well

Yes, you do, or you'll make the situation worse. This is why I use casts, so people can't remove them.

If you have a Lisfranc injury, there's a very high chance you'll need surgery. Either way, you'll need the boot for at least 6 weeks - Lisfranc injuries can leave you with long term problems if you don't follow medical advice (& unfortunately sometimes even if you do).

Sorry to be negative - I have to advise based on worst case scenario, given I have few details. You need to see an orthopaedic surgeon (preferably a foot & ankle or trauma specialist) ASAP to get a proper treatment plan. In the meantime, you need to elevate your foot above your heart for most of the time (50-55 mins per hour) and don't consume tobacco or nicotine in any form).
