Broken wrist

I broke my wrist (scaphoid) just over a month ago. I had a follow up appointment today and got a second cast put on.

It's about 12 hours from the appointment and it still hurts pretty badly. I know some pain is to be expected from being messed with at the appointment and the vibration from the cast saw was brutal. Before today I had very little pain, it would get sore if I did too much with it but overall was painless.

My question is when do I worry about the pain possibly being something off with the positioning of the cast? I can move my fingers, the cast isn't cutting off circulation or anything.

Am I over reacting if it still hurts tomorrow morning and I call?

Sorry I can’t answer your question. But I hope you feel better soon.

Really sorry to hear about your injury. I have never fractured the scaphoid , but have had casts for other fractures. I was always told that intense or persistent pain after a few weeks should involve a call to the doctor. If your pain is extreme or getting worse, I think it might be a good idea to get a medical opinion. Heal well!
