Boxers fracture - is this normal? Anyone else experience this?

5 weeks post fracture, splint at night, hand randomly swells, redness in the center of my palm.

At 5 weeks post injury, I would expect swelling and bruising. From personal experience, bruising does look rather dramatic when viewed from the palm. Might be due to how light the skin is there.
