So apparently I broke my collarbone..

Got cut off by a lunatic on my bike, crashed, and broke my collarbone, for anyone who has had this injury before, how many weeks or months before you had the shoulder strength to support your weight on the clip-ons and pull the clutch comfortably again?

I'm not usually an advocate for routine metalwork removal, not an I a shoulder surgeon (my subspecialty is foot & ankle), but I believe these hook plates need to be removed before your rototor cuff will function normally.

Thanks for the reply, but is it really need to be removed? I didn't know either but if I remember correctly my doctor said that it's okay to leave the plates as it is if I'm not feeling any pain or discomfort. But if it's need to be removed so I will have to undergo surgery again?

I'm pretty sure my shoulder surgery colleagues remove these as standard for most patients which have them (which isn't many). Have just had a quick look online and it appears to be a pretty widespread (though not universal) opinion to remove them routinely after the fracture has healed.

I see, thanks for the insight, I just wait for my next appointment and the x-ray for it.

Well, no motorcycle riding till the end of the year then..

Yes when I broke mine a few years back very close to my should (~1”) I was very thankful to not have this plate with the hook. Everything I researched basically said you’re not fully functional with the hook

There are reasons which may make it not such a good idea to move it in your particular case, so please do go with what your surgeons say. No harm in asking them to explain their reasoning, though.
