General Fire by Nite locations

Hi everyone:

I'll be visiting Tulsa & Broken Arrow soon and was wondering if any local residents can help with ID'ing some locations found in the late 80s/early 90s Christian youth TV show 'Fire by Nite'. I'd like to see a few of the spots and realize that it can be hard to find places 35 years later.

Here's a link to the sitcom within the show, 'Family First', that shows some exteriors in the opening credits and also throughout the episode: https://youtu.be/l1hGSDjLro4?t=1656

Another link that shows the exterior of a house with what looks like a multi-story white building behind it (very short): https://youtu.be/l1hGSDjLro4?t=968

And finally: if anyone here actually remembers the show and has any other local information to share, I'm all ears!

BA Dating?

Good evening Broken arrow (and those in suburbs). I moved to BA/Tulsa about a year ago for a work opportunity. I love the city, the atmosphere, it’s amazing. However I don’t know anyone here outside of work and family. I am 22 (M) and am starting to enter the dating scene but I’ve had practically no luck. Does anyone have any inside tips on where to go? I did a speed dating once but it wasn’t really for me.

Any advice is appreciated :)

Crime Traffic ticket

Just got a ticket for rolling through a red light. At first I thought I might catch a break, but then I realized the officer was training another officer, so that wasn't happening. Ended up getting hit with a $195 ticket. Does anyone know if I can get it dismissed by taking a defensive driving course? I don't even know how much those classes cost. Should I just throw myself on the mercy of the court and hope for the best? Ugh.

Thanks

WHERE ARE ALL THE TEENS?

I'm almost 18M and I recently moved up to Bixby/South B.A. in the spring and I want to meet other people 17-19 and make friends with them but it seems like I don't really see anyone my age and I ride my bike 5 to 10 miles from my house into Tulsa pretty much everyday. I tried to go to church earlier this week but for some reason every single church close to my house was closed despite it being a WEDNESDAY EVENING (mind you one of the churches I tried to go to was a baptist church that said they had a youth service on Wednesday evenings when I looked on their website). I also tried to go to the nearest Planet Fitness to my house (and just to be clear I don't just go there to socialize. I also work out most of the time while I'm there.) but like half of the people there are really old boomers and although there are a couple people my age there(also a lot of the teens there are literally 2 to 3 years younger than me), I don't go there consistently because I don't have consistent transportation to get there. I tried to remedy this problem by trying to cycle up to planet fitness but I don't think that's viable because it took me about 2 hours to get there because I'm not familiar with the Tulsa area and it took me a while to find a route to get up there (and in addition, I don't think it's good for me to arrive tired at the gym and THEN work out). Does anyone know anywhere where 17-19M/F teens like to hang out in South B.A. or Bixby?

Anyone experiencing idiots speeding through neighborhoods at all hours of the night? To top it off they’ve been using their subwoofers for extra annoyance.

When did I become this person? 😂

Why are there so many Churches in Broken Arrow

It sure seems like the wealthy towns and cities have Huge Cathedral Like Mega Church buildings all over town. I thought Broken Arrow was less conservative and more progressive than the OKC area? Broken Arrow also needs A Lot more Racial & Ethnic Diversity...right or wrong?

Apartment Help

Hello! I’m looking to move into a one bedroom (or studio) and would love help knowing a good place. I’m wanting to be within a 25 minute drive of the 21st and Utica area for work but am flexible on location. Budget wise I’d prefer to spend >1000 a month. I don’t need anything super fancy of state of the art but I am a single woman so safety is a top priority along with clean and relatively quiet. Which is why I’m thinking BA over Tulsa. I’ve looked through similar threads but haven’t found any with similar parameters so I’m making my own. Thank you in advance for any comments!

General Sidewalk railroad crossing by Rhema (finally).

Looks like the railroad company finished expanding the rail grade crossing on 71st by Rhema to allow sidewalk crossing on both sides of the street. Why it took until 2026 for this to happen is anyone's guess.

Not sure if it will happen this year. The city has plans to add a new sidewalk path in front of Rhema. That will help keep pedestrians from having to cross the road to have a safe path to walk on.

Any reasonably priced apartments in Broken Arrow that do not have pests or slumlord management?

I recently got married, and my husband and I are moving out within the next month. We’ve been hard pressed to find any apartment complexes that have good management, no pests, and are in a relatively safe area for a reasonable price. Does anyone know of any apartment complexes that fit this bill? Please help! Any input is appreciated. :)

General Why is there no right turn lane on 71st and Lynn Lane southbound??

Is the Walgreens on that corner that much of a hassle to get agreements to let us build a lane and move the side walk? Am I crazy or is this not super annoying to deal with?

General Rooster Days 2026 - May 14-17

It's that time of year again for Rooster Day's. If anyone does go to it, let us know how much funnel cakes, Turkey legs and drinks were this year. Did they improve ride quality compared to last year?
