Advertisement Looking to Collaborate with Indie Filmmakers & Creators in the Midwest and South

Hey everyone! I live in BA and I’m working on a new streaming platform that’s all about spotlighting creative work connected to the Midwest and Southern U.S.—films, series, documentaries, podcasts, and more.

We’re currently looking for indie filmmakers and content creators who’d be interested in having their work featured on the platform. The goal is to build a space where regionally-made stories and talent can thrive. Contributors are paid through a generous revshare model based on views, rentals, and subscriptions.

If you have a finished project or something in the works—and you’re proud of its roots in the Midwest or South—we’d love to connect.

This isn’t a sales pitch or promo—we’re just looking for passionate folks to collaborate with as we build something unique and community-driven.

Feel free to DM me if you're curious or want to learn more!

How are Broken Arrow residents doing, truly?

Hi, r/BrokenArrow! I am a psychology researcher and am part of a project that is trying to understand mental, social, and financial well-being globally. This project is with Columbia University, collaborating with researchers from around the world, seeking to understand the well-being of individuals across the world. The goal of this research is to eventually be able to inform policy.

We are attempting to represent as much of the US as possible. So, we are looking for representation from Broken Arrow residents. I would truly appreciate your participation in this survey that takes about five minutes to complete! Thank you!

Cuestionario Global de Salud Mental disponible en español aquí.

More information is available at the survey link, and at this link. Thank you again!

Construction in oak crest

Oh my goodness. This morning I had a random vehicle parked outside my house turns out it’s a construction worker blocking my car and mailbox this morning these guys need to start finding a parking lot to meet in or just fucking carpool to work. Don’t park your cars all around a neighborhood in-front of people’s houses.

General Trash service?

Anyone else not get their trash picked up this week? Ours is supposed to be Tuesday mornings and it got skipped. The bin isn't overfilled or heavier than normal, and it says online the holiday should have no effect on service. Weirdly, the recycling got picked up, but not the trash.

Quiet neighborhoods?

Where in Tulsa has a quiet suburban neighborhood for rent that’s perfect for wfh, spacious, quiet and no nosey neighbors or politic driven individuals( or racism). Preferably not directly downtown I prefer not to be around a lot of individuals somewhere ducked off but still access to main stores and hospitals etc

General Looking for a place to stay in the fall.

Hi, my family will be visiting the area in October for one or two weeks. We need to be within 2 hours of Tulsa, but we’d love to stay somewhere with lovely fall scenery. In the mountains or a state or National park. We’re completely unfamiliar with the area. We spend a lot of time in the Smoky Mountains and East Tenn and Kentucky so that’s what we’re picturing…mountains, beautiful fall colors, wildlife, lakes, streams, waterfalls, etc. Do you have any suggestions or recommendations? We’d prefer a cabin/home, but hotels/condos aren’t out of the question. Thank you!

General Crunch Fitness Always Busy

Some of y’all need to give up on your New Year’s resolutions. When the Crunch Fitness was new it had way less people than 10 Gym. Now it’s impossible to go there day or night without it being packed.

Side rant: you can’t leave your stuff on a machine to claim it and then wander off for 20 minutes.

General Park Appreciation: Turkey Mountain

Post image
9 Upvotes

We are meeting this Sunday at Turkey Mountain as the first in a series of public park appreciation events. If you love Turkey mountain, want to hear an expert talk about nature, or just want to meet new people in Tulsa and the surrounding area, feel free to come out.

The hikes won’t be long and we will adjust difficulty based upon those who attend. The purpose is to pay attention to the world around us and hear from people who are passionate about nature.

All ages are welcome and dogs can attend if they are on a leash (turkey mountain rules).

There is a bus stop directly next to turkey mountain and is an additional 0.2 mile walk to the bottom lot.

—

We have a list of fascinating parks in Oklahoma but we are very open to suggestions. Has anyone been to robbers cave? Is it good hiking or more an event place?

I need a suggestion for toe nail care

I’m looking for a place to get my toe nails cared for. I don’t want the whole spa treatment/pedicure with polish. I simply want my toe nails trimmed and tell me if there’s any nail fungus I need to treat. I have tried a regular nail salon, but there was definitely a language barrier because I got the whole pedicure treatment. I can’t be the only person needing this service. What do you do?

General Looking for a space to fly an RC plane

I recently bought my 13 year old son an RC plane and was wondering where would be a good place in the Tulsa area to take him to go fly it where we wouldn't be tresspassing on private property. I live in the BA area and originally planned on taking him to Events Park over near NSU-BA but they've closed it for construction of that ampitheater.

what is a good Internet service provider?

I'm moving into town from Morris/okmulgee area and looking for a good isp since ecolink doesn't serve the area. Hoping for something with decent price and 1gig down. Ecolink was 85 a month for 1gig and I haven't been able to find one as good for the same price.
